FAQ'S

SERVICE NUMBERS

What is your minimum service number?

We have a minimum of 4 services per artist or stylist Monday to Thursday and 5 services Friday to Sunday. If your service numbers are below this, the minimum spend will still apply. We have team members who are able to complete both hair and makeup, therefore their minimum service number can consist of both hair and makeup services to meet minimum service requirements if the schedule allows. Please discuss this with us.

What is the definition of a “service”?

A service is per person, hair styling OR makeup. If someone is having both hair and makeup, that is 2 services (1 makeup service and 1 hair service).

For example, if you have 3 people needing hair and makeup, that would be 6 total services.

Can I change the service numbers after booking?

Yes, you are able to adjust the service numbers so long as they do not drop below the mimimim per team member you have booked. You can also increase the amount of services provided the schedule allows.

What is the maximum number of services one team member can complete themselves?

Depending on what time you need to be ready, the maximum number of services per artist or stylist is 8.

Do I need to book both hair and makeup through BRIDAL GLOW CO?

While booking both will save you a lot of extra admin and you'll have the peace of mind of knowing the team regularly work together and things will run extra smoothly, you're more than welcome to book just either hair or makeup through BGC.

TRIALS

Where and when do trials take place?

Artist/stylist trial details are shown at the top of their individual portfolio link that will be provided at the time of enquiry so that you are able to take that into consideration when choosing which team member is the best fit for you.

Can I have a trial before booking?

Due to the high demand of our team, we are not able to conduct trials or hold your wedding date prior to the booking fee being paid to secure your wedding date with the artist and/or stylist. You will be able to see a portfolio of each team members work to help you decide who is the right fit for you before booking.

Do I need to have a trial?

We believe that a trial, while not necessary for every bride, can be immensely beneficial and we have never had a bride regret having one. If there are any concerns regarding a particular style such as longevity, comfort, or how it complements your look, or you are undecided on the exact look you are wanting to achieve, we would highly recommend including a trial. This allows us to dedicate time to finding the perfect style for you, which may differ from your initial vision, without any stress on your actual wedding day. Ultimately, investing in a trial can contribute to a completely stress-free wedding day by addressing any unknown factors in advance.

I work Mon-Fri so will require a weekend trial, do you do weekends?

Please understand that weekends are our teams busiest time for weddings so their availability reflects that. Some of our team do weekend trials so if that is essential for you please discuss this with us prior to booking so we can accommodate that and match you with the best person.

I live rurally/interstate/overseas so booking a trial may be difficult, but I’d like one, what can you do?

If this is your situation, please discuss this with us prior to booking so that we can confirm that your chosen team can accomodate you.

How do I book my trial in?

Our team co-ordinator will arrange the trial/s with your team for you. We will be in touch with trial availability however you are welcome to touch base at any time if you’d like to book in during a specific month and we will get back to you with date options.

Are trials needed for bridesmaids, mums etc?

Trials are typically for the bride only which is what will be included in your quote however if anyone else would also like a trial please let us know and we can add it to your quote.

When should I have my trial?

We recommend having your trial closer to your wedding date once you have an idea of your dress, flowers, bridesmaids dress etc as this will impact the overall look and tones however you can have a trial anytime after paying your booking fee.

Can I change my look after a trial?

Absolutely! The trial is a chance for you to try out the look you had in mind and to see what you think works and doesn't work for you. It also allows your makeup artist to see how the look wore for your specific skin type so adjustments to prep and products can then be made for the big day if necessary. When it comes to hair, it allows the stylist to see how the hair held for you throughout the day so products etc can be tweaked. Please note, with out styles, on the wedding day the stylist may opt to prep and set you hair earlier during the morning, and a few hours later come back and style the hair. This isn’t something that can be replicated during a trial appointment.

HAIRSTYLING

Will I need hair extensions?

We’re happy to provide advice on if your chosen style will benefit from extensions prior to your trial. Hair extensions are often required for out styles to create volume, hold and to achieve many of the results we see in reference images.

Do you provide hair extensions?

We do not provide hair extensions however we can recommend a company who offer quality clip in or halo extensions and free colour matching online. Our hairstyling team will then place and style the extensions for you at your trial and on your wedding day.

Do I need my veil and/or hair accessories for my trial?

We recommend that you come with the veil and/or the hair accessories you want to use on the wedding day so you can get the best idea of the final look, however it is not necessary if you do not have them yet or decide after the trial to add them to your look.

MAKEUP

Are false lashes included?

Yes, all of our adult makeup services include the application of temporary individual cluster lashes.

What about lip colour for touch ups?

Our team will do a touch up for everyone before they depart so you are all fresh and provide you with a mini of your lip colour. If you would like to purchase a full size of your chosen colour, your artist can let you know which one you selected at your trial and where to purchase it from.

Can I use my own makeup on the day?

You’re welcome to have our artists use any of your preferred personal products on the day however the service price will remain the same.

Will I need to touch up my makeup?

Our team will ensure your makeup is applied in a way that ensures maximum long lasting wear. It should last for hours without needing a touchup. If however your skin is prone to getting oily, we do recommend that you have a blotting powder handy and your artist can advise on this. You will also be provided with a mini lip touch up.

I’m having a spray tan on the wedding day, should I get one for my trial?

While we do recommend you have a spray tan for your trial to give you the best idea of the look on the day, it is not essential from your artists end. Our team will be able to adjust the look to whatever shade you are on the day.

Do you cater for all skin tones?

Yes, absolutely. We are an inclusive bridal beauty business.

I’m going to have lash extensions/a lash lift on the day, is that ok?

Lash extensions are no problem however if you are planning a lash lift please be aware that we will not be able to apply temporary individual cluster lashes due to the curve of the lash lift.

Do you offer tattoo cover ups?

Unfortunately we do not offer tattoo cover ups and they're far too high of a risk of the makeup ending up on your dress in some capacity. White is always a high risk colour and on a wedding day you will be spending a lot of time hugging as newly weds and also hugging your loved ones so it is very easy for them to shift.

TIMINGS

On the day, what is the schedule?

When we quote you we will provide you with a draft schedule based on your departure time from the prep location. If you are already on site, this would be your ceremony time or first look time. We typically require 15 minutes for setup, 60 minutes per service for the bride, 45 minutes per service for other adults and 30 minutes for touch ups. Generally we recommend that you are completed, including touch ups, at least 1 hour prior to your departure. If your photographer would like you ready earlier than this, we can adjust the schedule however our team will be leaving after touch ups so you will need to maintain your look for a longer period before the ceremony.

What if we have a very early start time?

Early starts may incur an early start fee which will be included in your quote however we don't typically start prior to 6am. Depending on the travel requirements for the team, accommodation may also be required the night prior which will also be included in your quote.

Can I change the timings closer to the wedding day when I have more of an idea of what is happening?

Yes, you are able to but please take into consideration how that may affect the start time and the flow on effect for early start fees and/or accommodation requirements for the team.

TRAVEL

Do you charge travel fees?

Travel fees are dependant on the location of your wedding vs the location of your chosen team member. Upon your enquiry, we will provide you with each available team members profile and, if applicable, their associated travel fee to your venue to help you with your decision making process.

PAYMENTS

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept bank transfer payments only. Cash, credit card or PayPal payments are not accepted.

Can you hold my wedding date while I get a little more organised?

Unfortunately due to the high demand for our team we have to operate on a first come, first serve policy. Your wedding day booking is only secured once your non-refundable booking fee has been paid. This is to ensure every bride has an equal chance to book their big day with us.

What is the payment schedule?

A booking fee will be payable to lock in your booking with your chosen team members. This payment also includes the pre-payment of your trial (if you are having one). The final balance is then due 1 month prior to your wedding. All of this will be clearly shown to you during quoting and invoicing. We do not accept split payments, payments from individual bridesmaids etc. or payments on the wedding day itself.

OTHER

What happens if my artist or stylist is unwell on my wedding day?

In the unlikely event that your chosen artist or stylist is unable to attend your wedding due to illness, rest assured that when you book through our team, you gain the advantage of seamless access to a diverse and skilled pool of replacements. This means we are in a great position to swiftly find a suitable replacement to ensure your wedding day preparations proceed smoothly.
